Blackjack at SkyCity Hamilton Casino

Play blackjack at Hamilton's riverside casino with 23 tables and rewards tracking.

Table Access and Play Requirements

At our Hamilton venue, we offer table games including blackjack, Roulette, Midi Baccarat, Ultimate Texas Hold’em Poker and other games, with blackjack available throughout the week during operating hours. Gaming hours vary by day and by game, with opening times subject to change. Table games hours vary by day and game, and public holidays can affect availability. Table availability can change based on demand and staffing levels.

To step onto our gaming floor, you’ll need either a SHOW by SkyCity card or a Premier Rewards card. All players must be 20 or older for gaming floor access. First-timers can get a SHOW card at our membership desk - just bring photo ID. These cards are all about your play tracking and access to our rewards. They also help our team keep track of responsible gaming, like time spent.

Maximum 12 hours gaming time within any 18-hour period applies to gaming floor access. We won’t let it slide - our SkyCare team is monitoring, and you’ll get a heads up via your card if you’re getting close to your limit. The venue provides a form for personalised play limits for Table Games.

Blackjack Table Operations

Our blackjack rules stick to the casino standard, but betting limits change over the day and depend on which table you take. We don’t publish fixed minimums or maximums anywhere because we change these according to how busy the floor is. High-roller tables show up during busy crowds, while normal stakes remain available throughout.

Table status, seating, and current limits are shown live on the floor. Supervisors are your go-to for seat availability or specific bet requirements. Guests can ask table games staff for assistance with game rules. Table assignments can move around - what you see midday might not match the setup in the evening.

Our dealers switch shifts based on standard routines. Table supervisors watch that rules are stuck to and step in if gaming time’s running long or we spot anything that needs attention for responsible play.

Rewards and Points

Our Premier Rewards lets you collect points each time you play blackjack. Points depend on average bet size and session duration. The more you play (and the bigger your stakes), the faster points add up. Higher loyalty tiers stack up points even faster. You may be able to use points for food, drinks, show bookings, and other services around SkyCity.

Swipe your card as you take a seat to lock in your points for that session. Important - always hand your card to the dealer before you bet. No card, no points, and we’re unable to retroactively credit any untracked session.

Here is the main tier breakdown:

Advancing through loyalty tiers happens by reaching certain thresholds. Points are earned through Premier Rewards, but cross-property transfer is not confirmed in the provided sources.

Responsible Gaming

Useful Info for Your Visit

Here’s a mix of practical bits to keep in mind:

  1. If someone is intoxicated, they can’t join any gaming.
  2. We validate parking for guests who use our services (arrive by car for longer visits).
  3. Children under 14 can’t be left by themselves, anywhere inside the Riverside Centre.
  4. Want a longer session? Keep the 12-hour rule in mind when planning your arrival.
  5. On weekends, blackjack tables fill quickly. Heading in early on peak evenings usually means finding an open seat.

About SkyCity Hamilton

We’ve been on the banks of the Waikato River since our opening in September 2002, as part of the Riverside Centre. SkyCity Hamilton is located at 346 Victoria Street, Hamilton Central, and is run by SkyCity Entertainment Group which also operates locations in Auckland, Queenstown, and Adelaide (Australia). Along with table games and slots, we offer food, bars, live music, and more (even bowling lanes).

Our floor features around 330 gaming machines and 23 tables, with a special VIP area for private play or personalised service. Ultimate Texas Hold’em Poker is available daily from 4pm, while Three Card Poker opens from 6pm, Thursday to Sunday. Texas Hold’em Poker has two tables available every Saturday and Sunday from 4pm to late, with registration opening at 3pm — the first eighteen players on the list are randomly assigned a seat, and remaining players join a waiting list. Table game availability and opening hours are subject to change based on staffing levels.

Fridays and Saturdays come alive with music, perfect for a night that’s more than betting.

Within the Riverside Centre, you’ll find our own line-up of eateries - quick snacks, full meals, premium options - all meant to fit those longer casino visits. The bar team brings drinks to tables in select gaming sections when you’d rather not step away.

Contacts and Support

Got a question while you’re here or planning a visit? The Shift Manager line (0800 SKYCITY) gets you straight to someone who can help with the floor, player support, or any operational issues. Always connects you with a supervisor, any hours we’re open.

For any concerns about gambling impact, we continue to highlight the independent Gaming Helpline at 0800 654 655. They operate separately from us, offering professional, private help to anyone who needs it.

General questions, event bookings or dining reservations go through our main reception when we’re open. We do not reserve standard blackjack tables ahead, it’s always first-come, with a waitlist working during rush hours.
